The Origin & The Future

I am 6 years old, watching Star Wars on repeat. I am 8 years old. First time seeing Blade Runner and getting a Vic-20, collecting model planes, exploding model planes, receiving the first VHS video camera, first crappy guitar. Then after proving my interest by actually learning to play something, I got my first good guitar. Interest in music and film deepens. Watching all movies available at local rental. Making my short films. Not being accepted to film school. Computer science studies, designing UI graphics, concepts, 3d animation, and motion graphics. Message from Kyle Cooper. These are some of the key moments that led me to create Stringular.

I still keep the message from Kyle Cooper asking to join his company close by. Cooper is behind the most iconic title sequences, such as Se7en. He is one of the inspiring reasons I got into motion graphics. Joining his company, Prologue, never happened but the message gave me the confidence to start my own company. Since then, I have had the possibility to work on some of the coolest projects ever, from games to Marvel Universe to beautiful brand films.

I am often asked, what is the origin of the company’s name. There is no clear answer. I guess the endless possibilities of expression with musical instrument’s strings, string theory, and singularity are behind it. For a long time, I used to compose music under the name of Stringular. I still release music (check out my latest release) and also create the music for some of the brand films. This hobby supports and balances my work life.

At the moment, tech is changing at a rapid speed. Stringular is utilizing AI on projects at least on some level. Regardless of that, craftsmanship and digital wizardry are deep in the DNA, and even analog methods are used. I believe this creates a unique fresh blend of visuals. Love for the nostalgia is deep regardless of modern tech.

What will the future bring? Stringular has moved towards studio mode and can take on bigger projects by utilizing the international talent pool that I have gotten to know over the years. At the same time, I will continue to steer the projects as a creative director and also as a designer. This allows working on all scales of projects, from one-man projects to bigger studio projects.
