Aeromon Leak Detection Measurements

Aeromon is always a fun and creative bunch to work with. This planet is a precious place to all of us and taking care of it is a no-brainer. This time Stringular created an explainer video on their approach to measure leakages in large industrial areas. This was a full CG project done with Cinema 4d. The process is explained below in more detail.

We started with a simple storyboard creation. This is early phase (low cost) iterative process to get things right, reducing later iterations that are possibly adding to the costs. Also, the voice-over is written and recorded at this phase.

Parallel process to storyboarding is the style development. These are mainly still frames representing the final look. Also, animation tests are often used at this phase. Once the style and story is locked we can proceed forward.

Next, Stringular created a previz of the whole film. This is not a mandatory part of every animation project but when the subject matter needs to be displayed in a specific manner, this is a phase that - again - reduces the later stress and need for more costly changes. This way we also get the overall feel and rhythm right. At this phase, we can place the voice-over and music in place. Still quite easy to make changes to the animation as it is not yet rendered!

Once the previz is approved, we can move to the final rendering and post-production. This usually includes adding sound effects, adding visual effects and adjusting colors, compositing elements, and editing the picture to its final look. Minor adjustments can still be made but overall, the project is close to final at this stage.
